Confirmation Service Project RequirementHere are some possible activities for fullfiling service requirement
- 30-Hour Famine: Good for up to 15 Hours, February 23-24, 2008 (contact Jyl)
- Shack-A-Thon : Good for up to 10 Hours, held in September (contact Jyl)
- Knights of Columbus Events: Blood Drive, Spaghetti Suppers, Easter Egg Hunts
- Rainbow Seekers: Help developmentally challenged adults celebrate faith events. (contact Leon or Doug)
- Holy Week activities:
- The Passion Play: Good for up to 15 Hours, March 15, 2008. (contact Jyl)
- Interactive Stations of the Cross: 4 Hours, set up and clean up, as well as monitor people passing through (contact Joanne)
- The Tenebrae: Involves reading or singing, good for 5 Hours, March 8, 2008, practices February 20, and March 4, 7:00-8:00PM. (contact Jyl)
- Good Friday Reading of the Passion: Dramatic reading of the final hours of Christ, 3 hours, Good Friday. (contacct Jyl)
- Easter Vigil: Clean-up, 2-4 hours Holy Saturday. (contact Adele)
Still trying to get your 30 Hour Service project done? Keep in mind service isn't just working for free. Service includes the element of doing something for God. As you decide on your project, think about how you can offer what you do for Christ. Here are more ideas for you to consider IN YOUR PARISH - Music Ministry - All of our groups would love some younger members - especially Awed by God - a contemporary folk group. See Jyl if you are interested. In particular we are in need of singers.
- Altar Serving - Father Ray is looking forward to a time when he can have MC Altar Servers (MC for Master of Ceremonies) to oversee newer Altar Servers. See Father Ray if you want to do this.
- Island Gardening - See Larry Sott if you want to sign up for this
- Greeting/Ushering - contact the parish office if you would like to be a part of this ministry.
- Coffee and Donut ministry - contact the parish office
- Religious Education - Consider committing to help teach one of the Religious Education classes in the fall. Contact the Religious Education Office.
- Outreach - Sign up for the prayer chain on this site and pray for people! Contact Amy Freise.
- Liturgy - Help decorate and set up for special Masses. Contact Adele Rochussen.
