Outreach Director: Amy & Clark Freise

The Outreach Ministry of St. Francis assists parishioners in living out our mission to serve our Parish, the Community and the World with God’s love. We are committed to following the words and example of our patron, St. Francis…

“Preach the gospel at all times and when necessary, use words.”

The Outreach Ministry provides opportunities for service, coordinates with other church ministries on service projects, and strives to educate the parish on the social teachings of the church. We work with the social service staff of Litchfield and with other churches in our community to make sure that those in need are provided for.

Some of our activities include:

  • Working in the New Horizons Soup Kitchen one Sunday each month
  • Providing recreational activities to veterans in the Manchester VA Hospital
  • Collecting baby items 3 times per year in our Baby Corner to benefit organizations helping mothers choose life
  • Providing Christmas gifts to 300 needy persons in our community through the Annual Giving Tree
  • Supporting Catholic Relief Services through fundraising
  • Providing holiday food baskets to the needy
  • Bringing the Eucharist to the homebound of our parish so that they may share in Communion with our Lord Jesus Christ
  • Collecting non-perishable food each week for distribution to the Blessed Sacrament Food Pantry and the New Horizons Food Pantry
  • Assisting with special celebrations, such as the Mass for the Anointing of the Sick

We have recently added a new program, the Circle of Caring, to our portfolio. The Circle of Caring is a group of individuals who have committed to assisting families in our parish at a time of crisis for a short period of time. For example, individuals may be asked to provide a meal for a family that has lost a loved one, to pick up a few groceries for someone who has just been hospitalized, or to play with older siblings so a new mother can rest.

If you are interested in joining the Outreach Ministry or have a suggestion for an Outreach project, please contact the Outreach Directors, Amy and Clark Freise.
