Sisters In Faith, St. Francis' Women's Scripture Study Share Group, meets on Thursday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Conference Room (Teacher's Room for the Summer). Together we read scriptures and delve into God's Word. Each meeting begins and ends with prayer, typically a version of the Liturgy of the Hours Evening Prayer. Occassionally the group takes a break from our studies for dinner and/or a movie. All women are welcome. Contact Jyl Dittbenner or Vicki Fontaine for further information. Currently Reading: The Shack, and the upcoming Sunday Liturgy Upcoming Study: "Everyone did what was right in his own eyes." Sound familiar? In the history of the nation of Israel, the period of the judges was a lot like today; they surely had the me-centered "I" problem mastered--just like we do. As a result, they kept getting themselves oppressed by their nations. Then God would raise judges to deliver them. The stories of Ehud, Samson & Deborah, to name a few, can inspire us to do what is right in God's eyes no matter what the cost. Because Hannah's story takes place during the same time of the judges, an overview of the first few chapters of 1 Samuel will also be studied. Beginning mid June (watch for exact date in upcoming bulletins), we will explore the Book of Judges with the aid of a study guide called JAVA WITH THE JUDGES by Sandra Glahn.
Past Books Studied: The Gospel of Matthew, Characters of the Old Testament, Revelations, Jonah, The Letters of Peter, Esther, Ruth, Acts of the Apostles, Romans & Courageous Love
