The Music Ministry assists at the Mass by providing song leadership in the context of the sacred liturgy. In addition, the ministry leads the congregation in sung dialogues and prayers the celebrant may choose to invoke. The music ministry is also responsible for singing the Responsorial Psalm.

The Traditional Choir sings at the 9:30am Sunday mass and rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm from September through Father’s Day in June. They generally sing in 4-part harmony; that is SATB (Soprano-Alto-Tenor-Bass). They enjoy a fair share of a cappella work along with accompanied pieces. Their repertoire consists of standard church fare along with an increasing number of choral anthems in English and Latin. They also perform a number of melodious octets that are both easy to learn and beautiful to hear. This ministry welcomes anyone interested in singing, but we are especially in need of male voices.

The Contemporary Group is undergoing some changes right now in repertoire and instrumentation. The song selection includes some traditional church songs stylized to the contemporary genre along with more contemporary songs sung to elicit a contemplative setting for prayer. There is currently a need for an additional acoustic guitar player and singers are always welcome. This group plays at the Sunday 11:00 am mass and rehearses on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm from September through Father’s Day in June. Please consider sharing your talents with us. This ministry is always looking for new voices!
